The Hands (and Paws) Behind the Craft

Owner/Operator
Jennifer was born and raised on the west coast of Newfoundland and currently resides in Steady Brook, NL. A true entrepreneur at heart & full time career woman. She is a long time ‘Tree Hugs’ fan & loyal supporter of the previous owner. When the opportunity to take on the business came around – she did not hesitate! She whole heartedly believes in ‘Tree Hugs’ and has always thought the concept was brilliant! Jennifer & her husband Chris took ownership of Tree Hugs in late 2021. They are both passionate about creating & designing. Their inspiration is derived from the beauty and unique natural design of each branch and its tree rings.
Chris Lake
Shop Hand & Creator
Chris is the lead of our tree branch creation process. He runs the sawmill and shapes and preps our earring discs, pet ID tags and custom Winter hat buttons. Chris is the best dog Dad, and takes our “tree branch collector Jiggs” out on our natural material collection adventures! Chris grew up in the Town of Pasadena NL and is also involved in local music and theatre seasonally.

Jiggs is our sweet Golden Doodle. He is obsessed with catching ball in his garden and thoroughly enjoys his branch collecting adventures he will carry the branches from pick up point until we reach home base no matter how big the branch (it’s often hard to get the tree branches from him!) He loves his play! He is a fluffy ball of energy and social butterfly Jiggs steals the show and is loved dearly by all!
